88. Lactantius, Institutiones Divinae I 5, 13-14 p. 15, 18 Br.:
Ovidius (Metamorphoseon I 21) quoque in principio praeclari operis (carminis R) sine ulla nominis dissimulatione a deo, quem fabricatorem mundi, quem rerum opificem vocat, mundum fatetur instructum. quodsi vel Orpheus vel hi nostri quae natura ducente senserunt in perpetuum defendissent, eandem quam nos sequimur doctrinam comprehensa veritate tenuissent.
“Ovid also, in the beginning of his remarkable work, without any disguising of the name, admits that the universe was arranged by God, whom he calls the Framer of the world, the Artificer of all things. But if either Orpheus or these poets of our country had always maintained what they perceived under the guidance of nature, they would have comprehended the truth, and gained the same learning which we follow.” (trans. Orpheus principalem deum dicit, qui caelum solemque cum ceteris astris, qui terram, qui maria condiderit.

This logo is the principal symbol of this website. It is called the CESS logo, i.e. the Children of the Earth and the Starry Sky. The Pætilía (Petelia, Πετηλία) and other golden tablets having this phrase are the inspiration for the symbol. The image represents this idea: Earth (divisible substance) and the Sky (continuous substance) are the two kozmogonic substances. The twelve stars represent the Natural Laws, the dominions of the Olympian Gods. In front of these symbols is the seven-stringed kithára (cithara, κιθάρα), the the lyre of Apóllôn (Apollo, Ἀπόλλων). It (here) represents the bond between Gods and mortals and is representative that we are the children of Orphéfs (Orpheus, Ὀρφεύς).
