Concert Choir is a large auditioned 10th-12th grade choir focusing on advancing musicianship, mastering healthy vocal technique, and honing musicianship & performance skills. Students are required to perform at four local evening events, have the option to participate in District/State Music Contest, participate on bi-annual enrichment activity performing at non-competitive music festivals, and be present at requested performances for local organizations during the school year. Auditions for Concert Choir occur during the spring semester of the preceding school year
This is a non-auditioned divided SA/TB choir focusing on basic music reading skills, developing healthy vocal technique, navigating voice change, and developing musicianship & performance skills. Students are required to perform at four local evening events, have the option to participate in District/State Music Contest (with MSHSAA fee paid), and participate on bi-annual enrichment activity performing at non-competitive music festivals.
Music Exploration– 7th Period
This is a non-singing option for students to obtain their fine arts credit to graduate.
Topics covered: music theory, beginning piano, music history, sound design using garagband and podcasting. Students will have various inclass assignments, projects, and quizzes that comprise their grade.
