Welcome to the Templates page. Here you’ll find examples from our Template Community, step-by-step instructions to build your own, and helpful video guides.
Templates in Heidi help you create structured, consistent clinical notes and documents. They act as a framework, guiding Heidi’s to produce your notes and documents in the format and style you prefer.
For example, you can create a template for a new patient visit, a surgical follow-up, or a discharge summary, and Heidi will generate the note in your preferred style.
Here you'll find a collection of ready-to-use primary care note templates designed to save you time and support high-quality documentation. You can access these directly in Heidi through the Template Community.
Templates are built through adding elements:
Section Headings: Section headings are in plain text and organize your template to provide structure. For example, a SOAP model's headings are: Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan and can be written as is.
[Placeholders]: A placeholder in square brackets denotes text describing the information that should be displayed there. For example, [patient's name] tells Heidi that you would like the patient's name to be added where the square brackets appear.
(Instructions): Instructions in round brackets tell Heidi how to handle the content. For example: (only include relevant past medical history if explicitly mentioned) ensures Heidi adds past medical history only when it's clearly stated, avoiding assumptions.
“Verbatim Text”: Text in quotation marks are treated as verbatim—Heidi includes it exactly as written. For example: "Referred by Dr. Smith, MD, FACS, (123) 456-7890" will appear word-for-word in every note.
