About Gym Class Heroes :
Gym Class Heroes was created by Heidelberg students that had a passion for improving overall health. The mission for Gym Class Heroes is to provide affordable opportunities to all people to have access to and feel comfortable exercising. Additionally, Gym Class Heroes hopes to work with schools to provide better equipment for physical education classes and provide take home items such as jump ropes and tennis shoes for children that cannot afford them.
About Classes:
Our first fitness class was for kids from 8 to 12 years old. As our program expands we will offer classes for different age groups. Classes will typically be 2 or 3 days a week for an hour each day. Each class will involve a dynamic warmup, physical activity based game, working in teams, an exercise circuit and a cool down period.
About our 5K Event
On April 27, 2024 Gym Class Heroes will be holding its first one day event with a 5K Run/Walk, First Steps to Fitness (1 mile run/walk) and silent auction at Hoernemann Stadium on Heidelberg's campus. The goal of this event is to encourage everyone to be active. Anyone can participate in either race and there will be activities on the field throughout the event. All proceeds from this event will go toward renting space to hold affordable fitness classes and purchasing fitness equipment for schools and individuals.
