Cross Campus Athletes

Listed below are just a few important details to be considered for student athletes who desire to participate in sports/activities that require shuttle to L.D. Bell High School.

Approval Process: Participation in L.D. Bell Sports

Upon receiving approval from the Athletic Coordinator to participate in your requested sport/activity, your counselors will be notified by the Athletic Coordinator and a schedule change may be required. Since policy requires confirmation from the Athletic Coordinator of the campus that you will be attending, it is recommended that you contact the Athletic Coordinator if you have questions regarding your approval process. 

Please do not directly contact counselors at any point during this process.

Expectations: Athletes Transported to L.D. Bell

Transportation will be provided for athletes who either receive approval from the Athletic Coordinator to participate in sports at L.D. Bell or will be required to attend off season at L.D. BELL for their prospective sport. All athletes participating in sports at Bell are required to leave at the appointed time that the transfer/shuttle services are provided. Attendance will be taken by a coach/administrator that the student athlete will be reporting to at Bell.

Expectations: ISS/OSS Bell Student Athletes

For students who are required to attend ISS/OSS at their home Junior High campus (Hurst Junior High), they will not be transported to L.D. BELL on the days that they will be serving ISS/OSS. However, after school detentions or other penalties not enforced by Administration must not be scheduled during the established class period at L.D. Bell.

Recommendations:

• Athletes must not attend tutoring, school detentions, or any other activity during the time of the assigned class period that they are required to be at L.D. Bell. (This could resort in multiple absences leading toward truancy issues.)

• After school transportation may be required from Bell for students who are assigned a class period at the end of the school day. Please be sure to make arrangements or communicate with your coach at Bell if you need to catch the bus from Bell.

• Please be aware that once a student is transported to Bell for their sport of choice, they are considered Bell students and will be added to an attendance roster at Bell. At that point all questions regarding procedure or policy must be directed to the Head Coach of the sport that they are participating in or the Athletic Coordinator.
