COVID INFORMATION

This will be a year like no other, but we will make it through TOGETHER!! If your child has any of the symptoms of possible illness listed below, they will be sent home. Please be certain that your contact information, and the emergency contact information you provide, is current. If your child becomes sick at school you will be called to pick them up. Please arrive as quickly as possible, or provide the school with the name of someone who can arrive quickly. When a child doesn't feel well, knowing their parent/guardian is on the way makes them feel better than anything else can!! Your child will be placed in a room that allows social distancing, monitoring, and health evaluation until someone can arrive to pick them up. That person will need to ring the doorbell at the front of the school, and will be met by the Nurse to provide information on the next steps that need to be taken in order to allow your child to return to school as soon as possible!

  • Please do not send your child to school with any of the following:

  • Temperature of 100.0 or greater (Please do not give your child Motrin/Tylenol and then send them to school. When the medication wears off, the fever usually returns. During the few hours that the medication kept the fever down, your child may have been contagious and spreading illness to other students and/or staff)!!!!!

  • Nausea, Vomiting and/or diarrhea

  • A rash

  • Redness/crusting/ or drainage of the eyes

  • Excessive sneezing and/or a runny nose or congestion/cough/sore throat

  • A persistent headache with unknown cause

  • Shortness of breath or complaints of breathing problems

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Unusual muscle aches or fatigue

  • Generally feeling unwell. You know your child best, and know when they are "not themselves"

If your child is sent home with any of the symptoms listed above (even if they do not have a fever), a note from a doctor may be required in order for them to return. If you are calling your child in with any of these symptoms, a note from a doctor may be required in order for them to return. Please do not allow your child to return to school until you have spoken with myself, or provided a note from a doctor. Siblings must also remain at home until the symptomatic student is cleared to return to school.

  • A medication request form must be filled out and signed by a physician and parent for ALL medications given at school, including over the counter medications. Feel free to come to the clinic and ask me for a form if needed. A new form is required every year for your student. Please also make sure that your child has a label on their medication (you can ask the pharmacy to print one if needed), and that the medication is not expired!
