Hello, everyone! My name is Reyna Cuevas, and I am looking forward to this upcoming year with new students. This will be my fourth year teaching at Central Junior High, and my first year teaching Algebra 1.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Middle Level Grades 4 - 8 in Mathematics and Science. I had the opportunity to have a full year of student teaching and observation in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford School District at Central Junior High and South Euless Elementary before I graduated. Then, I was able to become a substitute teacher at HEB ISD for the month of May in 2018, and finish out the year teaching Seventh Grade On-Level and STAAR Math. It was an amazing experience! I was able to make connections with students and teachers that would help me prepare for my first official year of teaching in my own classroom.
I was born and raised locally in Bedford, Texas. I had the opportunity to go to Stonegate Elementary, Central Junior High, and L.D. Bell High School - so that makes me a product of HEB! In High School, I graduated with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, and participated in the L.D. Bell High School Marching Band!
This summer, I moved out for the first time, and am enjoying having my own space! I had the opportunity to teach two summer school sessions, spend time with my family and play with my dog, Louie. I am looking forward to traveling to Japan for the first time next summer!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
