How does practice work?
We have 3 different groups we run through practice, the events and the time your athlete starts practice will determine the EOP (end of practice)
Everyone will do a running workout then they will go to their Field Event.
We also recommend joining the Sports You for the events your athlete participates in. This will give you more insight into practice and EOP
When are practices?
We practice every weekday, the schedule will change during the season, normally we will train
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday will be a technique day,
Fiday meet day
Sports You for the most up to day information
When does practice end?
Field Event practice will end by 5:30.
Join Sports You for the track team and the events your athlete participates in
When does my athlete know if they will be running in the meet?
We will post a meet sheet on Sports You, usually the day before the meet
Transportation
We will provide transportation to every meet, however we only provide transtortation to "Home" meets (@ HEB/CJH/LDB) you will need to pick up from HEB Track
Can my athlete drive to and from the meets?
Yes, They must return the signed permission slip by the assigned due date/time. Failure to do so will result in a scratch from the meet.
Can my athlete leave after their event?
Yes, your athlete must signout with the athlete's event coach
Do they need to buy anything / Does my child need spikes/shoes?
Clothing/Uniform: We will provide everything your athlete will need to compete in a meet.
Shoes/Footwear: We recommend a pair of running shoes and a pair of spikes. We do have used/donated spikes.
Some events do require specilized footwear.
We will help as much as we can,
How do you feed the athletes? Do they need to bring money to track meets?
We will provide snacks and water during the "regular" season. We encourage athletes to pack food or bring some money, most venues have a concession stand.
H.E.B. I.S.D. will feed athletes at the District, Area, Regional & State meets
Will meets still be run if it is raining/cold?
We will comunicate meet status on Sports You & our website. Usually lighting in the area or an unsafe suface are the only things that will cancel a meet.

Email your athlete's event coach or one of the head coaches
How do athletes earn a letter jacket?
Student athletes must participate in ⅔ of varsity meets or earn points in the varsity district meet & must complete the track season.
