Classroom Expectations

RESPECT is the key to our classroom community.

Students are expected to:

• Arrive on time and prepared
• Participate and stay engaged
• Respect others and avoid distractions
• Take responsibility for their learning
• Help create a positive learning environment

Our Goal: Be prepared. Be responsible. Be respectful. Be ready to learn.

Grading Policy

Gradebook Codes

• 1 = Received, Not Yet Graded
  The assignment has been submitted and is waiting to be graded.

• 0 = Not Submitted
  The assignment was not submitted.

Late Work & Homework

• Assignments are due the next school day, unless otherwise noted.
• Late work is accepted for up to 5 school days.
• A 10 point deduction applies for each school day late.
• After 5 school days, work will no longer be accepted and will remain a zero.
• Homework is graded for completion with work shown.

Knowledge Checks & Quizzes

• Knowledge Checks and Quizzes are Minor Grades, Weight 2.

Test Reviews

• Unit reviews may earn students up to 5 extra credit points on the corresponding test.

• Reviews are due on the test date.
• Late reviews are not accepted.
• All work must be shown to earn extra credit.

Test Retakes

• Students who score below 70% may retake a test within 1 week of receiving the graded test.

• Maximum retake grade: 70%

• For the final test of a six week grading period, eligible students still have 1 week from the date the grade is posted to complete a retake, even if the grading period has ended.

Personal Communication Devices

• In accordance with Texas House Bill 1481, personal communication devices may not be used on school property during the school day.

• This includes cell phones, headphones, earbuds, personal computers and tablets, iPads, and smartwatches.

• Students must follow all campus and district procedures regarding personal devices.

Student Responsibility

• Students are responsible for checking grades, meeting deadlines, bringing required materials, showing work, participating in class, following expectations, and asking for help when needed.

• Students are required to bring there school issued deviced to daily with charging cable.

• Consistent effort, responsibility, and respect help everyone learn and succeed.
