Mrs. Smith & Joey

Hello, my name is Angie Smith. I teach all the art classes and speech here at Keys. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a fine arts degree and secondary teacher certification. I am a proud product of HEB, and both my daughters graduated from L.D. Bell. This is my 27th year teaching art in HEB and I am excited to start my 12th year at Keys High School.

My mission statement as an art teacher is to teach and inspire with creativity and enthusiasm. Art can be very therapeutic. I want my students to feel better when they leave my class than when they walked in. Hopefully that sense of accomplishment carries over to other parts of their lives.

KEYS Mission Statement: The mission of KEYS High School is to educate, empower, and promote independent readiness for all students.

HEB CORE MESSAGES: 1) Students are responsible for their own learning. 2) Quality teachers and effective schools are essential to students' learning. 3) Parents and patrons are vital partners in the education process. 4) A safe environment for every student and employee is a prerequisite to learning. 5) Decisions and actions, at all levels, focus on and support effective student learning.
