IMPORTANT Student policy information:
Students will be required to actively participate in the Online Learning Environment. The most successful learners will be students who are able to read directions carefully, create a firm schedule to adhere to everyday, fully utilize Canvas and other Online Learning platforms, such as EdPuzzle, Google Meets, etc., read and respond to all posts on Canvas and stay in frequent contact with the teacher. Students are responsible for their learning and performance in all classes, the same concept applies to online learning. In addition to being responsible for their learning, all students will be responsible for their actions within the online learning environment. All of their actions within the online learning environment must adhere to student conduct policies of HEB ISD and Euless Junior High. Any actions which do not adhere to the district and school policies will be met with consequences.
Grading Policy:
Pre-AP
60% Tests (6-week tests, 3 Tests per 6 weeks, CBA, DBA, STAAR test, 6 weeks vocabulary, Major Projects)
40% Daily (Class work, notes, homework, quizzes, weekly warm-ups, History Binder)
On Level
50% Tests (6-week tests, 3 Tests per 6 weeks, CBA, DBA, STAAR test, 6 weeks vocabulary, Major Projects)
50% Daily (Class work, notes, homework, quizzes, weekly warm-ups, History Binder)
Re-test Policy:
A student who scores below a 70 on a test may choose to re-take the test (Not a 6-weeks or Semester) for a re-test grade of no higher than a 70. This must be done before or after school, and it is the student’s responsibility to schedule a time with Mr. Schneider. In the online learning environment tests will be graded before re-takes can occur.
Late Work:
EJH does not accept any late work (School wide policy). Homework is due at the beginning of class and no other time. Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a ‘zero’. In the online learning environment all work will have a hard due-date, meaning the opportunity to turn work in will be closed at a given time. To resolve any issue regarding late work will require a conversation with Mr. Schneider
Make-up Work:
It is the student’s responsibility to check the class Calendar and class Modules to see what was missed and make up assignments. These must be completed and turned in to Mr. Schneider. Absent students have 1 day for every day absent to take care of absent work. Missing online work will require a conversation with Mr. Schneider.
Student Expectations
Students will attend every class setting in a respectful manner. Respectful of Mr. Schneider, Respectful of Classmates, and Respectful of the Learning Environment.
Students will utilize the written and spoken directions to accomplish all tasks and activities. Students will be referred to the directions/instructions anytime their question or inquiry references the directions/instructions. Students in the 8th grade must be somewhat self-sufficient, meaning they need to utilize their learning skills to figure out how to best complete a task or activity.
Students will be in attendance at the start of every class and will be attentive, engaged and participate when expected.
