Communities in Schools
Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County (CIS) employs a team of full-time, school-based social workers who works with students to uncover the barriers that are preventing them from succeeding in school and in life. The CIS team brings together community resources to support the student’s success. Whether it means providing counseling services, dental or health screenings, or connecting a family with resources for food and shelter, CIS staff works during and after-school to meet those needs. CIS’s relationship-driven, “whatever it takes” approach has been the key to success for our students.
