Shannon Carnley (Mrs. C) is in her 14th year of teaching and her third year as the Associate Choir Director at Trinity High School.
Mrs. C grew up in Carrollton, Texas, where she played soccer and sang in the choir at Creekview High School. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and later earned her Master’s degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University in 2021.
Prior to joining the Trinity High School Choir family, Mrs. C served as the Head Choir Director at de Zavala Middle School in Irving ISD, and Wilkinson Middle School in Mesquite ISD. She also served as the Assistant Choir Director at Watauga Middle School in Birdville ISD, taught elementary at Granger Elementary, and started her career at Collins Middle School in Corsicana ISD.
Throughout her career, Mrs. C’s choirs have consistently earned Sweepstakes at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading contests. Her students also earned various distinctions at other contests around DFW, and has also had many students earn places in the All-Region Choir and All-State choirs. While she is incredibly proud of her students’ musical accomplishments, she is most proud of the relationships she has built with her students, families, and school communities.
Mrs. C is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA), and Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA). She is also the Youth Choir Director (Credo) at First United Methodist Church-Denton.
Mrs. C lives in Corinth, Texas, with her husband, Mr. C, who is a Band Director in Denton ISD. They have a Dog (Wrigley) and two cats (Gus and Pip). Outside of the choir room, she enjoys traveling with friends, watching reality TV, spending time with friends and family, and especially hanging out with her nephew, Hudson (Mrs. C is known to him as Aunt Puppy).
