Heartwood is a home-grown, local independent study charter school. We believe that every family should have the ability to choose their child’s education, and we have worked diligently to create Heartwood in that light. We believe that community creates a school which is why we are proud to offer a local alternative to the large independent study charter schools.
Our focus is to ensure both the humanity and future potential of our students. We aim to respect their gradually developing capacities and embrace a full integration of body, heart, and mind. Our goal is to graduate students who are proficient in all core subjects, well-prepared to pursue further academic and personal goals, and motivated to make positive, ethical, and creative contributions to their world.
Every homeschooling family is different, relying on different curricula, paces, and methodologies. Our homeschool program provides families with flexibility in how they choose to educate their learners.
