Heartland has a strong, robust, and supportive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to provide support and intervention to students who may be struggling in the areas of reading, writing, math, speech, behavior, behavioral health, social skills or emotional health.
Heartland cares deeply about your student’s success. We know that all students learn differently. Homeschooling allows each student individualized attention.
As the learning coach, you will be asked to support your student through a variety of ways by your assigned homeschool teacher (HST) and/or the Student Study Team (SST) if those concerns are present and affecting your child's educational progress.
A Student Study Team (SST) is used to review student data and other relevant information to determine needs and the proper tier of support. The Student Study Team monitors student progress and interventions.
Data is utilized to fluidly move your student through varying tiers of support. (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 may all be referenced). If your student has an outside diagnosis that you are concerned is impacting their ability to make progress in their curriculum and everyday learning, please make sure that you discuss your concerns with your assigned homeschool teacher (HST), so that they can begin the data collection for the Student Study Team (SST) process.
With our Tier 1 supports, there are immediate supports that can be put into place with the support of your HST. We will need your partnership to make data-informed decisions about what level of support your student requires. Even if your student has an outside diagnosis, Heartland will need to collect data about how your student’s learning and academic success is affected. We individualize all of our support. If you ever have questions or concerns about your student's progress in their curriculum or learning needs, please make sure that you inform your assigned homeschool teacher (HST) so that they can assist in coming alongside you to provide the appropriate support for your student.
