My name is Emerson Delacroix (pronouns: they/them/theirs) and I am licensed by the state of Michigan in Psychology. I am registered with Yoga Alliance as a yoga teacher.
I am credentialed with some insurance companies: BCBSM, Humana, Aetna, Medicaid, Medicare, and Meridian Ambetter, Optum United Healthcare.
Private yoga sessions are $60/hour.
My passion is to help individuals in the LGBTQIAP+, ENM, Kink communities to find the root of their pain using a multimodal approach. I provide individual, group, relationship, and family therapy to adults. I specialize in LGBTQIAP+ concerns, especially gender-affirming therapy (and gender-affirming surgery letter writing), non-monogamous relationships, kink, and ADHD. I have extensive experience in working with individuals who were raised in religious cults. I also have treated clients with depression, anxiety, infertility, adoption-related issues, grief/loss, relationship concerns, including polyamorous and non-traditional relationships. I also enjoy using my yoga teacher training and personal yoga practice experience in my work.
I pull from multiple therapeutic models from:
The 8 Limbs/Pillars of Yoga
Existential therapy which focuses on having purpose and meaning in your life with a present and future focus
Humanistic model of therapy focuses on the whole person and their potential, what motivates them and their needs with a look at the here-and-now and how that relates to their past
Spiritual model which incorporates a person(s) faith, spirituality and/or higher power(s) into their healing process.
Muscle testing with energy work
Motivational Interviewing
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Family Systems Theory
I have practiced yoga for over 25 years. In 2018, I studied to become a yoga teacher from Stephanie Lynn. After an injury in 2018, I have resumed my daily practice since 7 July 2018. You can see me in-person in Ypsilanti, or via telehealth.
Sarah Abdel-Wahab-O'Brien, TLLP
Hello, my name is Sarah (pronouns: they/them/theirs) and I am licensed by the state of Michigan in Psychology.
I offer a sliding scale ($40-168) for private pay clients for psychotherapy.
Creating and holding space for folks to feel safe in, share, be authentic, be vulnerable, and heal is something I have felt called to do throughout my life. I view therapy as a collaboration in exploration of the self and the world around us, and believe that having safe, affirming, and non-pathologizing space to discuss the ways our health is impacted by the various systems of oppression we face as individuals and members of our respective communities is essential in therapeutic practice. I am an adamant believer that individuals are the experts on their own experience, and view therapy as a partnership on a journey toward healing.
I approach each client as the unique individual they are, and my holistic and eclectic style pulls from:
Compassion Focused Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Trauma-informed Care
Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), which is a type of therapy designed for folks with Bipolar Disorder
Regardless of specific tools I may be utilizing, I approach my therapy practice with an existentialist, humanistic, trauma-informed, and liberation-oriented lens. I am LGBTQIAP+, kink, polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and sex work affirming in my practice.
I identify as a queer, mixed ethnicity MENA individual, and have felt called to be a therapist due to my own lived experiences inhabiting these and other identities. In my free time, I enjoy all things music, spending time outside, and tabletop gaming. It is one of my greatest privileges to have the opportunity to accompany you on your healing journey if you so choose, and I look forward to hearing from you if you think we’d be a good fit.
