In 2010, a small team of medical professionals and ministry partners set out to serve in Kenya. We had no experience building a team, didn’t know what we needed, and weren’t sure what to expect. But when we returned, it was clear that it would not be one and done.

Over the years, we have been called to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Kenya, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, Mongolia, and India. From a team of three to a team of nineteen, with ages ranging from seventeen to eighty, we traveled the path God set for us, accompanied by the Great Physician.

In early 2026 prior to a third trip to serve in Honduras with Pastor Rony of Zoe Church, he asked a simple question. “What is the name of your medical team?” We didn’t have a name. God did. The Holy Spirit whispered, “Healing Hope.” 

Following a worship service, Pastor Rony presented Healing Hope with a beautiful plaque. And we knew that this would be more than just a name. It had become a specific mission, guided by our key verse from Malachai 4:2: 

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings.”
