Anne J. MacArthur was an activist and trailblazer. She was a beloved educator and a politician. She was the first woman to be Warden of Halton Region and Reeve of the township. She was an environmental activist and was a founding member of the Niagara Escarpment Commission whose mission it was to protect the Escarpment from further defacement.
