Tuesday, April 14th
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter. On the weekend, Kristina and I dyed Easter eggs, made mini egg cookies (that were scrumptious) and we had a dance party in our kitchen. Looking forward to hearig about your weekends as well! You can use the template on Google classroom, e-mail me (somerss@hdsb.ca) or you can share in a Google Doc. Don't forget what makes our writing awesome (interesting opening, triple scoop words and lots of detail. When you are done, don't for get to edit for COPS (capitals, organization, punctuation, spelling). Tuesday April 7th
Morning everyone? How did it go yesterday? I've posted a question on Google Classroom where you can leave an emoji to describe how you're feeling about learning online. Today I've posted the science activities in the class room and I have made added some poetry sites to the Language section. I loved seeing you creations yesterday and hearing about your super heros! Today I will leave a comment on them for you to look at tomorrow! Hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day!
Monday, April 6th
Good morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to go out and enjoy the nice weather. Today is the start of our online learning adventure. On Googleclassroom you will find two slideshows with daily activities to complete. One lists all of the activities and the other is a Math slideshow. There is no time that they need to be finished by and I am available through e-mail to help if you are having difficulty. There is a Grade 4 one and Grade 5. As well, Mr. Preston has posted some French activities also. Have a great day!

Happy Friday! Thank you for your suggestions on how to make our writing awesome! Today I've posted a question about e-learning on the google classroom. As well, I've created a folder with some fun activities for you do do on Fridays. In order to prepare for next week, I have a job for you. I would like you to go into the folder you created at the start of the year and shared with me. I would like you to create a document and name it "Friday fun". In it, I would like you to tell me a little bit about how you have been feeling about being home, how you are feeling about learning online and what I can do to help you to learn online. I will then comment on your writing using the comments at the side of the page. This will allow us to make sure you know how to read the comments and to ensure that you can create a document in your shared folder.

I hope nobody is too upset about the April Fools day joke. I just thought we could all use some fun! Today, like every Thursday, if “Think our side of the box Thursday”. On Google classroom I’ve posted a picture. I’d like for you to comment on the photo with something you can infer about it. Don’t forget inferring means reading between the lines. So what do you see in the photo that makes you infer what is happening.
For example: I can infer that this photo is taken long ago BECAUSE it is on black and white and the people are dressed differently.

Write 5 pages about a topic of interest
In the math section I have posted 26 multiplication questions and 24 division questions
Read 100 pages of your book
Write an essay about your favourite book including quotations
Go on Dreambox for 2 hours
Do 100 push ups and 100 jumping jacks
Make a slideshow about the causes and effects of global warming. Don’t forget to tell me 3 reasons how you can help stop global warming.
Write me an email telling me why you think I’m the best teacher ever :)

Can you believe today is the last day of March?! I am hoping that the sun comes out so I can get some exercise outside today. I hope you have all been able to stay active. Today on our google classroom I've posted a new "Which One Doesn't belong". This time, using numbers.
Yesterday, my first reaction was the same as Addison's. I picked the U because it was curved. loved reading the other explanations people gave and I hope you did too!

Welcome to our new webpage! I will use this page Monday-Friday to talk to you about what we will be working on that day. Some days, you will have a task to complete on Google classroom. This page is easier to organise information so we will need to flip back and forth. This week, I will be posting some fun activities to get us into a routine of checking this page and then next Monday we will start posting activities to work on. A lot of parents are still working during this time. If you are having any trouble with and work, please feel free to e-mail me. I hope that you are all doing well and coming up with fun and interesting ways to keep busy! I'm looking forward to hearing from you all!
