Alphabet Linking Chart
Students use this chart to help them match letters to the sounds they hear when stretching out words. They match the sound they are looking for to the beginning sound in the pictures above.
Sight Word Chart
The chart above is used to help students include common words in their writing.
Club 22 and Club 60 Words
Students who practice these words demonstrate improved reading abilities. We recommend starting with three words from the Club 22 grouping. Once students have learned these words, we suggest adding three more words from the same group until they confidently read all six. This process is repeated until students are able to read all words from both categories.
Consonant Cluster Linking Chart
This is similar to the alphabet linking chart in that students use this chart to help them match letters to the sounds they hear when stretching out words. However in this case, they match the sound they are looking for to a digraph (a combination of two letters representing one sound).
Writer's Workshop Checklist
To the right is the checklist SK students use during writer's workshop. In class, they reflect on their writing first and put check marks for items they have done. They bring their writing to a teacher afterwards to go through the "Teacher Checklist."
