We love the game. We love each other. Today, whether at practice or a game, we will work until we have nothing left to offer. We are focused on what we can contribute and at the end of the day we will be better. We are thankful for being able to play this game, with this team, with these people. We are strong, determined and will not let anyone take our heart, out love, or our desire to play this game. We are going to instil fear in our opponents. We will pick each other up when we are down. We will demand the best out of each other. Mistakes will motivate us to grow. Success will not be given to us, we must earn it, deserve it, take it. We will learn through hard work and we will work as one. We will not play one minute for ourselves but every minute for each other. When the final buzzer sounds we will be tired, exhausted and sore…but we will be proud. We are tough competitors, and we want this more than anybody else.
All sports teams will have a $100.00 per student Athletic Fee. Students need to only pay this fee once per year, and can join up to three teams. Fee payments will only be made AFTER the tryouts have occurred (some sports have tryout fees, for example ice rentals for hockey). All team and athletic fees will be offered through School Cash Online, the preferred method of payment, or a cheque payable to Milton District High School can be provided to the appropriate coach.
The Athletic fees cover our membership with the Halton Secondary School Athletics Association (HSSAA), which include our referees, equipment, first aid kits, coach support and awards. The fee will also cover 1-2 tournament fees/team, some transportation costs and includes the $45.00 ticket per athlete for the Annual Athletic Banquet at Milton Banquet & Conference Centre. Additional fees may be incurred depending on the sport. The number of tournaments, etc. Coaches will communicate specific team fees which each student.
If you are transferring to Milton in the current school year and you are in Gr. 10, 11, or 12, there are a number of eligibility considerations that must be met before competing for our teams. Please refer to the OFSAA Transfer Policy, which all schools in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA) must follow. If the transfer form applied to your student, please complete the form and bring it, along with the required supporting documentation to Mr. O'Brien in the Healthy & Active Living (HAL) Office as soon as possible. Student Athletes new to Milton beyond gr. 9 may NOT complete in athletics until this requirement is met and the student is deemed eligible by the HSSAA.
As always, financial concerns should not keep a student from participating on a team. Please contact Mr. O'Brien, Program Lead for Healthy & Active Living, should you need to discuss payment options.
