Reminder that READING is everyday homework! Aim for 20-30 mins a day. It's a great time to dig into a new chapter book. Use the reading log sheets to track nightly reading progress.
Writing practise of all types! For example, keeping a journal is a great activity. Your students will appreciate looking back to read their journal when they're older.
Students can also practise writing in response to what they've been reading (e.g., writing an alternate ending to a story, writing a summary of each chapter, create a new character, write from a different character's perspective.
Writing can help release emotions, worries and feelings, which can be helpful under these unprecedented circumstances. Give it a try!
