School supervision begins at 8:25.
Please accompany your child to the fenced in Kindergarten Area at the back of the school. We ask that you say good bye at the gate and only students are requested to enter the area.
Students will be dismissed from the fenced in Kindergarten Area at 3:00. They will be dismissed one at a time, so we are able to ensure they are safely with their caregiver. School staff will only dismiss the children to the parent or caregiver that is noted on the First Week Information Form. Please let us know if this information changes during the year.
Due to life-threatening allergies, Lakeshore is a NUT FREE environment, so NO peanuts or tree-nuts please! Please check all labels carefully before sending food to school.
Students will be eating twice through the day. We suggest separating your child's food into a snack and a lunch, using labels or separate compartments in lunch bags when possible. We encourage you to send snack containers that your child can open easily, but there will always be an adult there to assist when needed.
Here are just some of the types of snacks and lunches we often see in our classrooms.
- sandwiches, bagels, wraps - cut up fruit
- cut up veggies with dip - raisins
- meat, cheese and crackers - apple sauce
- yogurt or cottage cheese - granola bars
- thermos of soup - thermos of pasta
- pretzels - nacho chips with salsa
- boiled eggs - sushi
-pitas and hummus - fruit gummies

Outdoor Learning is an important part of the Kindergarten Program. Classes will be outside every day learning and exploring, so it is important that your child comes to school dressed for the changing weather.
We ask that you send a spare set of clothes, clearly labelled, in the event your child gets wet or dirty.
Our Kindergarten team includes two Teachers and one Registered Early Childhood Educators. The educators work together to provide an inviting and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and promotes exploration. The Kindergarten Program uses a balance of play-based inquiry learning and direct teaching to provide a variety of learning opportunities that are designed to reach every learner in the classroom.
The Teacher and ECE combine their skills, strengths and education backgrounds to collaborate and create a rich learning environment that fosters the development and well-being of your child.
Kindergarten students are assessed using the Four Frames Model, which is followed by the Full Day Kindergarten Program. These frames are designed to support the way children's learning naturally occurs during play and inquiry. They include Belonging and Contributing, Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematical Behaviour, Self Regulation and Well Being, as well as Problem Solving and Innovating.
