First Day Of School

The first day of Full-Day Kindergarten starts on Tuesday, September 7, 2021

On the first day of Kindergarten, your child will meet their educators, classmates, and have an opportunity to become familiar with their new classroom environment at Sam Sherratt Public School.

Please fill out the First Week Information Form and send it with your child on the first day of school.

8:35 a.m. Supervision Begins in the Kindergarten yard

8:45 a.m. Entry

10:30-11:10 First Nutrition Break

12:50-1:40 Second Nutrition Break

3:10 p.m. Kindergarten Dismissal Begins

3:20 p.m. The Rest of the School Dismissal

Nutrition Breaks

Our school is a NUT-FREE environment, so NO peanuts, tree nuts or Nut spread please! Thank you for your understanding for the safety of our students.

Kindergarten Entry

School supervision begins at 8:35 a.m. Please accompany your child/children to the Kindergarten fenced play area located at the back of the school. Once there, please ensure that the school staff on duty is aware of your child's entry to the fenced in area when you are dropping off your child. When the entry bell begins, children will line up inside of the fenced area with their class and wait for their educators to lead them into the classroom.

Kindergarten Dismissal

School staff will only dismiss children to the parent or caregiver that is noted on the First Week Information Form. Please inform us if your child's dismissal information changes during the year. When picking up at dismissal, please wait outside your child's classroom entry door.

Office Procedure

If you are late dropping off your child, please enter the school at the front door to sign in your child at the office. The office staff will ensure that your child makes it to their classroom safely.

If possible, please let the office know if you are picking up your child early. Please enter the front doors of the school to sign out your child at the office. The office staff will ensue that your child safely arrives at the office to meet you.

Bus Information

If your child is a bus student, please let us know on the First Week Information Form and send it with your child on the first day of school.

If your child attends the Y.M.C.A. before/after school program, please let us know on the First Week Information Form and send the form with your child on the first day of school.
