Simply point to an image to hear it pronounced aloud and spelled.
Change the difficulty by clicking on the preference icon settings. Choose between beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. (Advanced is the default)
Unclear what an object is? Activate translations through the preferences or by pressing the 't' key.
Halton District school board has a Welcome Centre where newcomers can go to to get specific settlement and school information. The Welcome Centre is located in the Gary Allan High School in Milton 215 Ontario Street South, Milton, L9T 4N5. Via Milton Transit, take bus #5 or #8.
Who goes to the Welcome Centre?
Students from Grade 1 to age 21 who are new to HDSB register through the Welcome Centre if they are:
Entering the Ontario school system for the first time, and whose first language is not English
Entering with an International Student Visa (or any Visa including Visitor Visa)
Entering with a Work Permit or a Study Permit (student and/or parent/guardian holds the permit)
Entering with their Permanent Residence application in process
Entering from a French language school in a French language school board (if first language is not English)
Re-entering Ontario after an absence of a year or more (if first language is not English)
