New Grade 9 Course Option for September 2023
For September 2023: The Grade 9 Information and Communication Technology in Business (BTT 1OO) is being offered as an eLearning course for Grade 9 students. In this course, students will develop word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation software, and website design skills. This course would be considered an elective course.
What is an eLearning Course?
eLearning courses are coded with the last character ‘O’. The course will be delivered by an HDSB teacher in an asynchronous, online environment. This means that students will work individually through the online material delivered through Brightspace. Students will have a period in one of their semesters designated as their time to work on this course.
It is recommended that students selecting eLearning courses have strong learning skills in self-regulation, organization and time management.

"When students are empowered to design and plan their own lives, they are engaged, they achieve, and they find themselves applying their learning in their daily lives. In an environment that encourages such learning, students develop confidence in knowing that their school programs are created with them in mind, that the world beyond school has something to offer them, and that they have something to offer the world."
