About C.H. Norton Library

We have over 500 students and therefore have a part time teacher librarian- Mrs. Morrison. We also have a library technician who visits us every Thursday- Ms. Adams. Our library relies on parents and grandparents to help as volunteers. These wonderful people help with the book circulation, shelving, searching, processing and tidying. We really appreciate our volunteers. If you would like to help in the library, please see Mrs. Morrison. The amount of time and day is flexible.

(volunteering is currently on hold)

Our students visit the library for a variety of reasons. Kindergarten students are allowed to borrow one book and the rest of the students can borrow two. The borrowing time is two weeks but if the student needs the book longer, they are encouraged to renew it. We encourage students to develop good borrowing habits. If a book is lost or damaged, the expectation is that the student will contribute towards covering the cost to replace the book. We gladly refund the amount paid if the lost book is found at a later time.

There are many activities that run through the Library. Keep your eyes open for our Forest of Reading Program, Books Fairs, and various clubs.

We are looking forward to an exciting year. Please check out our website and/or drop in to our library to see what is happening.
