About Our Team

Our FIRST Robotics Team is consisted of around 30 students from grade 9-12 with several mentors. We as a team work together to bring the best bot that we can make in 6 weeks. The students are split up into fields in order to perform maximum efficiency, the fields that they are split up into are; Manufacturing, Programming, Robot Design, Website Design/ Media Coverage, and many more. Each of these fields are are responsible for what they are suppose to do in order to meet the deadline. With captains in each field, they are there to share their knowledge to students who may need it. Our mentors teach all that they need for them to be successful building these machines. Since the beginning of 2011, we have grown as a team and also as a school. In the 9 years experience we have been in the quarter finals but we haven't had any luck, but that didn’t stop us, it made us work harder and harder every year. Classes throughout the school has been growing with us, we’ve been lucky enough to have different teachers throughout the school from different departments to help us with this competition, Physics teachers assigning task to their students, also have media teachers helping us with media coverage. We have been lucky enough for our team members, mentors, teachers, also the school board to help us grow to this day.

As Milton District likes to say, “GO Mustangs!!!”

What is THE FIRST Robotics Competition?

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition. Each year, teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors work during a six-week period to build game-playing robots that weigh up to 125 pounds (57 kg). Robots complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals, flying discs into goals, inner tubes onto racks, hanging on bars, and balancing robots on balance beams. The game, along with the required set of tasks, changes annually. While teams are given a standard set of parts, they are also allowed a budget and are encouraged to buy or make specialized parts.
