Welcome to the gateway of innovation, sustainability, and transformative leadership in Asia's healthcare sector!
On October 30 - November 1, 2024 in Hai Phong, Vietnam, Health Care Without Harm Southeast Asia and its partners convened hospitals, health systems, climate advocates, and stakeholders to shape a sustainable, climate-resilient healthcare landscape in Asia. More than 300 participants from 27 countries, including representatives from 10 Ministries of Health, took part in the International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health and the 6th Asia-Pacific Green Healthcare System Conference, locally dubbed as “Hội nghị khoa học Quốc tế về Biến đổi khí hậu,sức khỏe Và hệ thống y tế xanh châu Á Thái Bình Dương."
With the theme, “Transforming Asian Health Systems: A Vision for Equitable, Low-Carbon, Sustainable and Climate- Resilient Healthcare” (Hội nghị Quốc tế về Biến đổi khí hậu ảnh hưởng đến Sức khỏe Và Hội nghị Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương về), the conference aimed to build stronger leadership and broader movement for healthcare climate action across Asia.
About the Conference
The International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health and the 6th Asia-Pacific Green Healthcare System Conference, formerly known as the Green Hospitals Asian Conference (GHAC), was convened with the purpose of bringing together and unifying hospitals, health systems, climate advocates, and stakeholders in achieving green, sustainable, and climate-resilient Asian healthcare.
It meets the mission and goals of the conference founder and main organizer, Health Care Without Harm (HCWH), to transform health care worldwide so that it reduces its environmental footprint, becomes a community anchor for sustainability, and is a leader in the global movement for environmental health and justice.

This conference was a collaborative effort of institutions in Vietnam and the region that are committed to making Asia's healthcare sector more sustainable and climate resilient.
The event was hosted by Vietnam's Ministry of Health, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HPMU), and the Vietnam Health Environment Management Agency (VIHEMA).
It was organized by Health Care Without Harm Southeast Asia, Center for Research and Development of Health Environment (CHERAD), Asian Development Bank (ADB), FHI360, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network (GGHH).
The conference was held in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
Hai Phong is often called "the city of flame flowers." This port city in Northern Vietnam charms visitors with its elegant historical buildings and streets adorned with vibrant flame trees. In addition to offering modern conveniences and shopping options in the city center, Hai Phong serves as a gateway to Halong Bay with convenient ferry connections.
