Sufyan Waryah is a Computer Science student at NYU (Class of 2027) with a strong focus on software engineering and scalable systems. He has completed multiple internships as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon (2024–2026), where he gained hands-on experience building and optimizing production-level applications. Alongside his academic work, Sufyan serves as a Course Assistant for Software Engineering at NYU, supporting students in mastering core development concepts and best practices. His experience reflects a consistent commitment to technical growth, collaboration, and real-world impact in the field of computing. He recently visited High Tech High School to congratulate two students, Yousef Mohammed and Maximus Elmorry, on being selected as future Amazon Engineers, recognizing their achievement and encouraging their continued growth in the field.
Amanda D’Sola is a Midshipman Third Class (MIDN 3/C) at the United States Naval Academy studying Computer Engineering. A High Tech High School alumna, she combines a strong STEM background with a growing interest in areas like cybersecurity and systems design. At the Academy, Amanda is known for her discipline, teamwork, and dedication to becoming a future naval officer. She takes pride in building her technical skills while contributing to the leadership-focused environment of midshipman life.
Mouhammad Dia is a High Tech High School Computer Programming alumnus and a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student at Cornell University. He has gained hands-on experience as a Vehicle Design Engineering Intern at Toyota North America and is actively involved with Cornell Cup Robotics and the National Society of Black Engineers. Mouhammad, a Bridges Scholar at Cornell Engineering, returned to High Tech to present to junior Computer Programming students, sharing insights about his academic journey, internship experiences, and the transition from high school to college in STEM.
Awed Challi is a University of Virginia Computer Science and Economics student with roots in Ethiopia and Kenya. He gained hands-on experience in project coordination and youth mentorship through his role at WEMA International, developing skills in HTML, team collaboration, and leadership. Passionate about coding, MMA, and music, Awed applies methodical thinking to his growing interest in the financial technology sector. He returned to High Tech High School to present to junior Computer Programming students, sharing insights about his academic journey, mentorship experiences, and the transition from high school to college in STEM. Awed looks forward to building and sharing innovative projects while connecting with others to exchange knowledge and ideas.
Wilson Matute is a people-focused Project Management Office lead at Bread Financial and an experienced speaker on leadership and project management. He serves on the Computer Programming Program Advisory Committee at High Tech High School, providing insights on curriculum alignment with industry trends. Wilson has earned multiple certifications, including Certified ScrumMaster and AWS Cloud Practitioner, and has shared his expertise as a guest speaker on fostering effective teams and delivering value in projects.
