Schedule of HCPLC Meetings During the Week of March 18-22, 2024 .docx

PLCs are organized by Individual Virtual HC Content Area PLC Meetings.

The purpose of the PLCs is for educators (administrators, supervisors, teachers…) from across Hudson County school districts and charter schools to come together to collaborate on curriculum, common interests, best practices, and to set up a communications system for members of the PLCs to communicate with each other and share information on a regular basis online. This communication system is incorporated into the Hudson County Curriculum Portal.

All school districts / charter schools are invited to have staff participate in these PLCs.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Education from Jersey City State College. As an alumni of the Harrison School District, she takes great pride in continuing to build the love of learning that she developed so many years ago as a student. She is a curriculum writer and editor as well as an innovator for Language Arts elective and intervention courses. She has been one of the founding members of Harrison’s summer enrichment program which centered on project based learning with community involvement. Kimberley has led her school in data analysis, focused prescriptive instruction, and shared best practices. She is a frequent presenter for district professional development and has presented at the county level on topics such as project based learning and use of technology in the classroom through the Google platform.

Kimberley is passionate about social emotional development and the adoption of a positive growth mindset for both students and staff members. In addition to teaching, she incorporates these beliefs into her other titles in the district. She is the Harrison High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach, the Washington Middle School Student Council and Newspaper Club Advisor, and a member of the School Improvement Panel, the Pandemic Response Team, and the Green Team. When she is not teaching, advising, or coaching she can be found judging cheerleading and dance competitions for the Metropolitan Cheerleading Judges Association where she also serves as secretary and a judging training coordinator. Mrs. Madalena is honored to be named the 2021-2022 Hudson County Teacher of the Year and credits being able to dream with her eyes wide open to her husband Frank, daughter Mairey, and son Landen.
