Thomas Eakins - Eakins was born in Philadelphia, PA, and taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He is considered to be one of the best American artists.
Mary Cassatt - Cassatt was born in Pittsburgh, and grew up in Philadelphia. She spent most of her adult life in France. She painted wonderful pictures of women and children.
Edward Hopper - Hopper painted the life of people in cities.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts - An excellent and very historic museum of American art here in Philadelphia.
