All about

Mrs. Liskey

My name is Mrs. Kristina Liskey and I am so excited to have you in my first grade class this school year! First grade is an exciting adventure! I'm eager to start learning and growing with you!

I have been a first grade teacher for thirteen years, and this is my third year at Holy Cross! Although, it does feel like coming home, since I was a St. Eleanor School graduate! After St. Eleanor, I moved on to Gwynedd Mercy Academy and then received my Bachelors and Masters degree from St. Joseph's University. I earned a certificate in Elementary Education, Special Education and I am a certified Reading Specialist.

While I love everything about first grade, teaching reading is my passion! I love guiding my students to learn the fundamentals of learning phonics and then building on that knowledge to develop comprehension and fluency. Watching students unlock the world of literature and sharing the excitement of their new abilities is a gift I will treasure as your child's teacher!

I am a mother of two girls. One is a third grader and the other a Kindergartener at Holy Cross. My husband and our family, along with our dog, Kodi, live in Collegeville. We are parishioners at St. Eleanor parish.

Teamwork between parents and teachers is essential for success in first grade. I encourage open communication and hope you feel comfortable to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have throughout the school year.
