Private lessons are a great way to keep students motivated and to improve their skills heading into next school year. Please reach out to Mr. Henley if you would like recommendations for private teachers, or click this link for a list of recommended teachers compiled by the Howard County Parents for School Music advocacy group.

Registration Information:

Students continuing in band/orchestra will have to re-register at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Information about re-registering will be distributed and sent home electronically during the first week of school.

Symphony, GT, Honor Groups:

  • WoES Symphony: Will be available by audition for all 4th/5th grade orchestra students and 5th grade band student next year. Information about auditioning will be shared in the Fall. The group will perform on both the Winter AND Spring concerts.

  • GT Groups: Students will have the opportunity to audition for county wide GT Band/Orchestra if they are interested. Please reach out to Mr. Henley ASAP if your student is interested in auditioning. The sooner preparation starts for these auditions, the better chance students have of making the groups!

  • Honor Groups: Students may be nominated to participated in county wide Honor Band/Orchestra. If students want to be considered, they should be sure to complete all assignments on time, practice consistently at home, and attend lessons on time and regularly at school. Students that set an example for others will be considered for nomination.
