A thunderstorm is created when clouds have gathered a lot of rain in them and are heavy with water. The clouds then spill all of their rain on land and can sometimes cause devastation. 

Thunderstorms sometimes cause and create tornadoes and hurricanes and more. They cause really heavy rain and destroy lots of things. Sometimes it can be minor, and sometimes major.
