Emergent
Canopy
Understory
Forest floor
The pictures up top represent the 4 rain forest layers in order from left to right. The emergent layer is the layer that grows to become very tall. The canopy layer is the layer where all the average sized trees are bunched up and crowded. The understory is the 3rd layer which is completely shaded because of the canopy, not letting any sunlight come. The forest floor is basically the floor/ground.
