Our highest priority is that all students are registered for school and have a full schedule for the first day of classes. We are still working to prepare class schedules for all of our new and returning students. The official date for schedules to be viewed by families is Wednesday, August 20 at 8 am. After that time, if you have any concerns or questions regarding your schedule, please email your assigned School Counselor:

Emails and schedule change requests will be processed in the order they are received. School Counselors have mandatory meetings and other duties as assigned in the days leading up to the start of the upcoming school year. Beginning August 20th we will follow the Schedule Change Process.

For college-bound students, the HCPSS Class of 2026 College Application Process site has all the information you will need to navigate college applications.
Please complete the Counselor Information Form and the Teachers Information Forms (#1 and #2) in Naviance ASAP. These can be found under the “About Me” tab, and then clicking on “Surveys from your school.”
Starting on 8/20/25, Seniors may begin adding colleges to their “Colleges I’m Applying to” list in Naviance and completing other college application tasks, such as Matching Common App to Naviance and requesting letters of recommendation.
School Counselors will be meeting with all seniors through English 12 classes in September 2025 to review the procedures for college applications. Presentations will be posted to this site.
Students and family members are encouraged to check their canvas emails regularly, subscribe to the HCPSS Postsecondary Calendar, and visit the HCPSS March2Future resource page for college application information and support.
For graduates from the Howard County Public School System, use this link to request transcripts
For rising seniors, please use Naviance to request transcripts. Details can be found in the Senior College Folder
Transcripts for students in grades 9-11 can be requested using this link. Please note this link is for 9th-11th grade students, scholarships/internships, and dual enrollment. Transcript requests will be fulfilled by our school registrars, Ms. Zetlmeisl (Susan_Zetlmeisl@hcpss.org) or Ms. Herzing (emily_herzing@hcpss.org ). Additional information on transcript requests for rising seniors will be shared in mid-September.

Work permits are required for minors under the age of 18 who work in Maryland. Work permits are completed online and DO NOT require verification from the school. Information can be found online-- https://www.dllr.state.md.us/labor/wages/empm.shtml.
MVA forms must be signed by Counselors or Registrars over the summer. The student must deliver it to the MVA in a sealed envelope. More information can be found on the MVA website- Learner's Permit - Pages (maryland.gov)
