Please use the canvas assignment to record you saying your First and Last name to be read at graduation. The name being read is the name that appears in Synergy, so please say that name. Anything to help the readers :)
If you are interested in giving a speech at graduation, we will hold auditions in late January/early February. More information will come out later but here are some possible places we will need speakers
Graduation Ceremony
Write an original welcome and introduction for Graduation.
Length should be 1 - 2 minutes.
Help the audience get excited for this important ceremony.
Introduction of Stage Guests
Here are the names of the guests you will read for your audition.
This is NOT the actual list and some of the names may change. (This is from Reservoir so lots of names will change!)
Graduation Speech
Write an original speech that would be appropriate for Graduation.
Make your speech upbeat, heartfelt, celebratory and reflective.
It should appeal to a large diverse community audience of students, parents, and school staff members.
Use Guilford Park specific anecdotes.
Be yourself!
Maximum time is 4 minutes.
Introduction of Mr. Waz
Write an original introduction for Mr. Waz.
Length should be 1 - 2 minutes.
You will work with him to hear the theme of his speech and can use some of that to introduce him.
For your audition make a speech introducing your favorite teacher or write an introduction for Mr. Waz. This will give us an idea of your passion for the staff at Guilford Park.
Introduction of the Superintendent
This is a prewritten script from the county.
We will pick someone that has auditioned to read this.
Introduction of Special Performances
This is a prewritten script from the county.
We will pick someone that has auditioned to read this.
If you have never seen a graduation, watch parts of this to get a feel of what speeches look like. Each school is different and until we have one, I just picked an HCPSS school to use.
Please contact your club sponsor about how to order your stoles or cords. They will also be able to tell you how they are being given out. Use this link to help you find the different groups that are giving out stoles and cords that can be worn at graduation. This is still a work in progress as we get all clubs up and running.
Rehearsals are mandatory. Please start to make arrangements with work or other commitments to be there on THIS INFORMATION WILL COME OUT MUCH LATER! CHECK BACK :)
All current permanent HCPSS staff members who are parents or legal guardians may present the diploma to their children. The HCPSS procedure is that graduates of staff members will be presented with their diploma at one time during the ceremony. Please be aware that these names will be read at either the beginning or end of the alphabet/ceremony. Only parents or legal guardians may present diplomas to students.
Use this link (THIS WILL BE LIVE LATER) to fill out the google form.
