Who can join Chorus?
Any 4th or 5th Grade student who loves to sing can join! There is no audition required and no experience necessary.
5th Grade students do not have to have been in Chorus last year to join!
Are you able to join Chorus if you are already in Band/Orchestra?
Many students who participate in Chorus also participate in our Band or Orchestra programs. This is both possible and encouraged!
Students who choose to participate in both Chorus and an instrumental program can do so without missing significant rehearsal time in either. Please contact any of the music directors with any questions about participation in multiple music ensembles.
When does Chorus meet?
4th and 5th Grade Chorus will each rehearse during school for a half hour once a Related Arts rotation cycle (3-4 times a month). It will take place during Content time.
Students will be provided a schedule!
4th Grade
YELLOW Days, 1:40-2:10
5th grade
GREEN Days, 11:40-12:10
What commitments come with joining Chorus?
Below are the expectations for participation in Chorus:
Students are responsible for attending all required rehearsals unless excused
Students are expected to participate in the Winter and Spring concerts (after school events)
Students will receive a grade on their report card for Chorus
Students will model the Elkridge BIG 6 during rehearsals and performances- Respect, Responsibility, Safety, Perseverance, Collaboration, and Initiative
Students will come to every rehearsal prepared and ready to participate the entire time
When will Chorus perform?
4th and 5th Grade Choruses will both perform in our EES Winter and Spring Concerts as well as other small performances throughout the year that will be announced!

Are there any required materials?
There are no required materials or purchases in order to join Chorus! Students will be provided a Chorus folder to hold their music and schedule and are expected to remember to bring it to every rehearsal.
When does Chorus start/end?
Chorus will start rehearsing the week of September 15th and continue until May.
