ASPIRE JHU APL
The ASPIRE High School Internship application opens January 1!
As a reminder, this is the ONLY application period for the 2025 calendar year. There will not be an academic year application.
ASPIRE is JHU APL’s unpaid, project-based internship experience that provides high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. During the intensive summer session, ASPIRE interns are paired with APL staff mentors to complete projects, solve problems, and learn and apply crucial technical and interpersonal skills in a hands-on, professional environment. Summer students in good standing who wish to continue their internships into the academic year may do so with mentor agreement and/or self-matching with a new mentor.
JHU has have made some significant changes in 2025, including:
An updated radius of eligibility
A streamlined application with less paperwork due up front
Additional info sessions for the interview process later in the spring
