Reading

Students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes every night. Please listen to your child read and ask them basic questions about what they have read such as:

What happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story?

Who was the story about?

What was the problem in the story?

Why did the problem happen?

How was the problem solved?

Where did the story happen?

When did the story happen?

For non-fiction reading, ask who, what, why, when, where questions about the topic.

Spelling

Weekly spelling words are listed on the homework sheet that is in your child's folder. Please make sure that your child practice's these words. It is suggested that they complete 3 of the activities from the yellow "Spelling Homework Menu" that is in their homework folder each week.

Math

Please practice the math skills listed on the Weekly Homework Sheet.
