T Tess Refresher
A Culture of Continous Improvement
T-TESS is a process that seeks to develop habits of continuous improvement, and the process itself best leads to that outcome when appraisers and teachers focus on evidence-based feedback and professional development decisions based on that feedback through ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
T Tess includes three components:
2 Goals:
Student Growth goal
Professional Growth goal
Includes:
Pre Conference
Observation
Post Conference
A shift from teacher centered to STUDENT centered.
Goal Setting and Professional Development Plan
GSPD is an ongoing, recursive process through which teachers authentically engage in reflection about current professional practices, identify individualized professional growth goals, establish and implement a professional development plan to attain those goals, and track progress toward the goals over the course of the year.
For a successful T-TESS, teachers need to
Practice self-reflection of strengths and professional learning needs,
Establish personal goals to strengthen their instructional effectiveness and better meet students’ needs, and
Engage in relevant, targeted professional learning opportunities aligned to their goals.
