JCAS YEAR 3 2026
Senior Care and Companionship
Senior Care and Companionship
Objectives
Our Y3 JCAS Journey focuses on the themes of leadership, compassion and care. Through needs-based service learning, students support nursing home seniors with higher care and mobility needs through meaningful interaction and thoughtfully designed activities. We seek to deepen students’ compassion, patience and adaptability, while nurturing respect for dignity in care and enhancing the emotional well-being of the seniors they serve.
Lively Engagment and Sending our Well-wishes
On 23 January and 30 January 2026 (Fridays), all Y3 classes had the opportunity to interact with people with Special Needs. For a few JCAS sessions, together with their teachers, the students conceptualised programs to entertain and engage the beneficiaries from various Lentor Nursing homes and elder care Centers. The visit aimed to engage with the beneficiaries, bring joy through creative activities, and foster a sense of empathy and inclusivity among the students. They were given a brief introduction to the center’s mission and the different challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. The students then eagerly joined in a fun and interactive session focused on colouring, making CNY decor items, singing, etc. The students presented the beneficiaries with food hampers with written messages by the students wishing them for the CNY 2026.
