Duration of the competition: 1 hour
The aim of the HCIC is to generate greater interest in the field of info-communications among students in primary schools. HCIC is also an excellent opportunity for the youth to identify and explore their talent in programming, coding and robotics, and to develop important skills such as computational thinking and analytical thinking.
Note that the medium of the competition will be in English.
HCIC will be conducted online in the afternoon at the school premises of participating students.
This competition is open to all Singapore schools, as well as overseas participants.
All Singapore participants must be Primary 6 students.
For overseas centres with the school year commencing in June/July: Participants must be primary school students in Primary 5 or 6 or equivalent.

The focus of the competition:
Programming logic, Python programming language, robotics knowledge
(a) All participants must have their own mobile devices/laptop/desktop with internet connection (via School Wi-Fi or mobile network).
(b) Login details (userid and password) will be given to the participants through the school teacher on the day of the competition.
(c) Read the instructions carefully on the screen before you start.
(d) There will be a timer on the screen for individual participant to show the time remaining for the competition.
(e) After the competition, please log out of the site.
(f) The use of calculators, mathematical sets or mathematical tables is not allowed during the competition.
All participants will receive an e-certificate which will be sent to the participants' email addresses according to the name (and email address) submitted during registration.

All platinum award winners will also each receive prize money of $50.
The results of the HCIC will be posted on the website within 2 weeks after e-HCIC is administered.
a) The registration fee per student is $20/- [inclusive of GST] and registration opens from 1 March 2026 to 15 March 2026. The invitation email will be sent to the primary school by the end of February 2026.
(b) Registration will be done strictly via an online portal: hcic.hci.hk.cn
Teachers-in-charge are required to register for an account on the portal before registering their students.
c) Payment must be made before the competition. Parents are required to make the payment for the competition either via PayNow or Credit Cards. The payment link will be disseminated by the respective Primary School teachers-in-charge e.g. Parents’ Gateway.
E-invoice/Receipt will be sent to the registered email address upon successful payment. Registration will be considered complete only after payment has been made and verified.
No cancellation or withdrawal is allowed. Registration fee is strictly non-refundable.
