Audition Workshop:

An audition workshop will be held on Thursday, September 3rd  from 6:30PM - 8PM at the Hoogland. Production staff will be there to share about the production, what they’re looking for at auditions, and the rehearsal process. The audition dance will also be taught. 

Production Information and Rehearsal Process

• Production Dates December 4th-6th & 11th-13th 

• Rehearsals will start at the beginning of October. We will rehearse Sunday - Thursday from 6:30 - 9:30. 

• Cast is expected to provide a comprehensive list of conflicts following casting. Cast will also be expected to be on time for all scheduled rehearsals and to notify staff of any last minute or emergent conflicts that would prohibit the cast member from being present at rehearsal. 

• All communication between cast and staff will take place on the Band app. 

• Cast and staff members will commit to working to create a supportive, inclusive, and positive rehearsal and performance environment where everyone’s work, talent, and contributions are valued. 

CONTENT & INTIMACY NOTES:

• Because this show opens in the Western Front of World War II,1944 and continues in 1954, there are many moments in which World War II is referenced. There are not any moments of the war in action. There is mention of Waverly recovering from being shot in the leg (not shown on stage). 

• There is scripted intimacy including a kiss between Betty and Bob. Actual blocking will be determined by directors and actors based on actors’ comfort. 

• The scripted intimacy between Phil and Judy including Phil kissing her hand. Actual blocking will be determined by directors and actors based on actors’ comfort. 

• The characters Rita and Rhoda are written as extremely forward and flirtatious, they also wear scanty Christmas-themed outfits at one point.
