Logistics

Most non-Vietnamese citizens need to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam (see E-Visa page). 

Visa exemption countries are listed here. Always check with your country's embassy in Vietnam to be sure.

By Plane:
The University is about 20 km away from Noi Bai International Airport. It is located by Pham Van Dong highway which links the Airport to Hanoi central.
From the Airport you can choose some options to get to the University.

• By car: You can either take a taxi directly outside the Airport or book some types of pick-up service such as Grab or private businesses. The cost is around 200,000 to 300,000 VND (approximately of $13).

• By bus: We reccommend taking bus number 86, a special service, which will take you round from the International Terminal to the city center, and from the city center, you will have to take another one or two buses to get to the University. By Train:

You can reach Hanoi by train from China. The service runs daily from Nanning (China) to Gia Lam station (Hanoi).  The fare costs about 750,000-800,000 VND.

By Car – taxi service

You can book taxi service by calling directly to the company, catch a taxi on your way, or book a Grab. Major taxi companies in Hanoi are: Mỹ Đình, Taxi Group, Xanh, Thăng Long, Mai Linh, Ba Sao. To avoid taxi scams, use Grab or go with a major taxi company.

Local bus services

Hanoi has excellent city bus services. You can catch local and intercity buses from all main bus stations and bus stops. See this website for more information.

Bike, motorbike or foot

Hanoi is fairly flat and there is plenty to see, especially the city center, so the best way to discover the city is by motorbike, by bike, or on foot. You can also rent a bike or simply book a Grab.

By Plane

Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air (low-cost) have daily flights to most major attractions in Vietnam.

By Train

The University is roughly 6 km away from Hanoi Station and 100 km away from Gia Lam Station. There are daily direct trains from these two stations to a lot of destinations in Vietnam. See Vietnam Railway website.

By Coach

Regular daily direct coach services run from Hanoi to locations around the country. The University is only a 5-minute walk from My Dinh Coach Station. See coach services from this website.
