Georgia Children Book Awards

This award is given annually to one picture book and one middle school book, in order to promote excellent literature and encouage a love of reading to children in the state of Georgia. I am very blessed to be on this committee. The committee narrows down choices submitted by students across the state into the two catagrories, and then selects 20 for each. The committe announces the nommines in March and students read these books and vote for their choice by the following March.

Here at WRMS we encourage students to read these books and vote for their favorite. These are high qualitiy books, that seek to offer a mirror and/or window for students to see themselves or others in what they read. Take a few minutes to look of the choices from this and last years nominees and perhaps watch a couple book video trailers and reviews for some. Then after reading be sure to submit your vote at school.
