About

Mission and Vision

The Warrior Academic Team seeks to foster student confidence and leadership dispositions while also showcasing student talents and accomplishments through friendly academic competitions. We will compete in district-wide academic bowl competitions, as well as the Jimmy Carter National Historic Park Academic Bowl.

Academic Team Eligibility

Warrior Academic Team is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, depending on team needs each year. Students must attend tryouts. Those who make the team will be notified by Mrs. Roberson. In order to become a member of the team, the student must also be in compliance of Academic Team Expectations for current members (passing grades, no behavior problems, etc.).

Mrs. Wimberly Roberson

My name is L. Wimberly Roberson. I attended Georgia College and State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Social Studies and English/Language Arts. I am also certified in Middle Grades Reading and Secondary English. I just completed my Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology and Library Media from Georgia Southern University. Before teaching, I completed an internship with Walt Disney World and worked at The Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. I am currently working on a Reading Endorsement and a Specialist of Education in Instructional Technology and Library Media. Outside of school, you will find me relaxing with my husband and rescue pup.

This is my fifth year teaching, and it will be my third year working with the Warrior Academic Team. I can't wait for a fantastic season.
