The Northside Middle School Media Center is a place where students can explore and learn while working toward becoming lifelong learners. Students will visit the library with their Language Arts classes every three weeks, and they may visit the media center at other times with a pass from their teacher.
If a student has an issue with a chromebook, they need to notify one of their teachers. The teacher will then email Mrs. Singletary to let her know that they need a repair, and she will call them up when she has a spare chromebook ready for them.
We have a variety of books available for students to check out from graphic novels to nonfiction and fiction novels. Students may check out 2 books at a time, and they will not be charged a fine unless there is damage to the book or the book is lost. We also have e-books and audiobooks available on SORA which is an app that is available in the portal for all students.
Happy Reading, and see you soon!
Mrs. Tambra Singletary
I hope you will join in our Summer Reading Challenge this year! If you complete the challenge, you will get to enjoy an ice cream celebration when you return to school in August. You can see some suggestions for books that are available on SORA since you won't have access to check out books from the library.
We hope you will join in our Summer Reading Challenge! If you read any 5 books based on the categories provided, you will get an ice cream treat/celebration when you return to school in August!

Students may access e-books and audiobooks using their school login/dashboard.
May 2026
Students will visit the library with their Language Arts classes every three weeks. They may check out 2 books at a time, and there are no fees unless the book is lost or damaged beyond repair.
At the end of the school year, all books will be due on Friday, May 1st. Students in the 8th grade are required to turn in their chromebooks and chargers by Friday, May 8th. If a student has lost their charger, the fee to replace it is $20.
If you have any questions about books or chromebooks, please contact Mrs. Singletary at tambra.singletary@hcbe.net.
Students should bring charged chromebooks to school each day. Please do not bring chargers to school as they could get lost/stolen.
