6th Grade Statewide Honor Choir 2024
Why should I join chorus?
Singing in chorus is a fun way to express yourself and to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Singing with friends is one of the best, most memorable experiences you can have.
But I can’t sing! I've never been in chorus!
Everyone has to start somewhere. Even if you have no singing experience, you can still join – we will teach you how and you can have fun doing it! Many students in chorus have never sung before this year!

Sixth grade students entering FMMS are placed in a 2-part treble chorus. Students in beginning chorus develop their voices in a healthy manner, beginning by learning how to produce a pleasant tone without damaging their voices. Students learn how to read music and sing at sight (meaning they can sing music without hearing it first)!
The sixth grade choir members perform alone and with the intermediate/advanced choruses on several occasions, have the opportunity to audition for 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus, and attend Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) in the spring. They may also participate in the spring musical!
I've already done chorus, and I want to try new things in middle school. I'm afraid that being in chorus will keep me from doing other activities.
Many members of the Feagin Mill Chorus are also involved in band, leadership, athletics, FCCLA, FBLA, and FFA. The teachers at FMMS are awesome at working together to ensure that students can participate in multiple activities.
